charging for rosters could ruin the fun for all

Almost everyone agrees that NCAA Football is much more enjoyable with rosters. However, each year thousands of people look to the wrong places to get these rosters.

The NCAA Football gaming community has several proud members who work for hours upon hours editing and naming rosters. They know that it is against NCAA regulations to profit off the likenesses of collegiate athletes, so they do this as a labor of love. However, there are unethical individuals who steal these free roster files and then turn around and sell them for profit.

We want to see this thievery come to an end. Should individuals continue to attempt to sell the roster file (and profit off of the likenesses of collegiate athletes), it is possible the NCAA may ask EA Sports to remove the roster editing aspect in NCAA Football. Needless to say, none of us want that to happen.
